Speech Time Apple Pie

As a speech-language pathologist, I love to use themes in therapy!

While Thanksgiving might not seem as fun as Halloween nor Christmas,

Thanksgiving means food, and KIDS LOVE FOOD! I love this activity for teaching

so many different things that address speech and/or language goals. Language goals may include following directions, sequencing, describing, associations, concepts, and more! Speech goals may target /s/ blends with words like spoon, smash, scoop, stir, and small. Maybe you need to target velars, and can achieve that by practicing words like cup, cracker, cream, shake, graham, and gobble. There are lots of CVC words you can elicit as well, such as, cup, top, one, whip, yum! This is a really simple activity, and all my kiddos love it!
